Saving land in Quebec - on protège les espaces naturels à Gore, QC
The “Heart of the Estate” is now protected!
It’s official! On December 12, 2023, Conservation Lakefield became the proud owner of the “Heart of the Estate”, 35 hectares (86.5 acres) of undeveloped land within Lakefield Estate.
This purchase, our second significant acquisition in Gore, means that Conservation Lakefield now owns and protects over 152 hectares (375 acres) of natural woodland and wetlands. Lakefield Estate is home to the largest protected area in Gore Township and one of the largest in the Argenteuil RCM.
We could not have protected the “Heart of the Estate” without you, our donors. Your 2023 donations and future pledges totalled more than $500,000! Your generosity enabled us to leverage more than $365,000 in additional funding from government agencies and to ensure that these natural gems in the heart of our region will be protected and conserved forever. Thank you!
If you have not yet been able to give, it’s not too late. We still need to build our stewardship fund, essential to manage and preserve these areas in perpetuity. Why not give the gift of nature this holiday season? Make a tax deductible donation to Conservation Lakefield.
